Winter becomes a distant memory on this 7-night journey through the warm waters of the Caribbean. Get to know the culture and beauty of two neighbouring islands — Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic — as you delve into the region’s vibrant history. Learn about traditions like bachata dancing and cigar rolling, and then find a spot in the shade of a palm tree on a white sandy beach to enjoy the ocean breeze.
Embark in Puerto Rico’s capital and make time to explore Old San Juan, where the seaside fortress of Castillo San Felipe del Morro is a wonderful spot to soak in centuries of history while enjoying fantastic vistas.
Sailing on to your next destination, the Caribbean provides an idyllic backdrop as you sink into a lounger and lose yourself in a good book, sip a handcrafted cocktail poolside or indulge in a revitalizing spa treatment. Recharge for the adventures that lie ahead in the upcoming days.
The following day, we arrive in Samaná, where you can visit the lush and tropical El Limón waterfall on horseback, go spelunking at Los Haitises National Park, search for humpbacks on a boating expedition or spend the day on a private beach overlooking Samaná Bay.
With an afternoon arrival, you’ll have the full afternoon and evening to take in the Dominican capital of Santo Domingo, from the picturesque and historic Zona Colonial to a bachata dance class that will prepare you for the city’s legendary nightlife.
Two days means twice the fun in La Romana. Visit a family-run distillery, head to nearby Saona Island to splash in balmy waters, or rev up your experience with an ATV adventure to the Cueva de las Maravillas, an extraordinary cavern complex.
Spend your day in Puerto Rico’s second-largest city, where history and culture come alive in colourful, neoclassical colonial architecture, the city’s museums or on the lively seaside boardwalk, Paseo Tablado La Guancha Paseo.
After disembarking from the yacht, head to San Juan’s lively Condado district to shop in the boutiques, sample local flavours and people watch before your departure to the airport later that evening.
